This movie in no way resembles the book other than just the core element of "food raining from the sky.".
This film features lots of cartoony humor & quirky dialogue that are in typical modern animated movies targeted at children. If you enjoy this style of children's films, by all means check this out. Not absolutely terrible, but definitely not my cup of tea, as far as kid's animated movies go.
