What a pleasant surprise! I thought this would be brain-dead but I was wrong it was imaginative and a lot of fun. The characters were pretty good and the bright and whimsical animation fit them perfectly.
It also had tons of great voice work by Bill Hader, Anna Faris, Neil Patrick Harris, Andy Samberg, and James Caan. I laughed a good bit and thought the puppy love parts were cute. The overall theme and message of the movie to do what you love and to be yourself never gets old.
