Review of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009) by Tracie S — 01 Mar 2012
Cleverly written with a very high jpm (Jokes Per Minute), the movie unintentionally explores America's love-hate relationship with food. For anyone who has even a rudimentary knowledge of nutritional science, there are some horrifying images and themes.
I imagine that this movie will be looked on by future generations as politically incorrect at best, disgusting at worst. Still, if you can overlook the food-related weirdness, you may be able to sit back and enjoy this movie's countless adorable and refreshing comedy moments.
