Review of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 (2013) by Bryanbezter — 11 May 2020

Great things about the movie:

1. The animation is wonderful. The world-building is extraordinarily colored and visualized.

2. The jokes are funny and the ridiculousness is abundant.

3. The music is beautiful.

4. The voice actors did their job well. The puns are hilarious.

5. The character designs (food-animal hybrids) are amazing and very cute.

Debatable holes:

1. The 6-month time-skip until Chester selected his new Thinkonaut was too long and did not contribute to the movie.

2. Chester's company and employees were not related significantly. Were they just holograms?

3. The latest selected Thinkonaut just went away like that and did not contribute to the movie.

4. Chester's holograms could touch and slap Flint.

5. The food-animal hybrids were easily tamed.

6. Tim could find his store easily, while Flint and friends needed extra effort to get there.

7. Cannibalism?

8. An ape and a monkey on a date?

Message from the movie:

Flint is a huge fan of Chester V. He likes Chester so much since he was a little boy and wants to become like him. He is blinded, could not think wisely, leaves his friends and family, and unaware of evil plan of his idol. Looking up to someone is good as a motivation for us to achieve our purpose, but we have to think rational and emotional and consider our actions very well. Just because someone we idolize ask us to do something does not mean that it is the right thing to do.
