Despite terrific performances by Juliette Binoche and Kristen Stewart, as well as some gorgeous cinematography, this talky, pretentious, overrated exercise in self-importance never gets off the ground nor sustains its momentum.
Tossing together a collection of pithy insights into a single vehicle and hoping the finished product makes sense is no way to craft a film. Save your time and money.
