This is an interesting script, with a powerful main character and great performances. But as much as Sils Maria is captivating, it's also disappointing. Assayas did a beautiful film visually but the dynamic he built, always ending some scenes before they actually ended and letting us think what happened was very frustrating and boring.
Stewart's character simply vanishes and the ending is very unsatisfying too. I mean, I got what he did but I didn't like it. it didn't work for me, even with stunning performances, specially Binoche's.
It's a shame.
