Review of Cloud Atlas (2012) by Art L — 24 Apr 2014

Cloud Atlas denotes 6 different timelines with 6 different story-lines and attempts to capture the elements of humanity in each arc. That is really all that can be said about this movie. The time periods range from the slave period to as far as 2114 and tries to show that in many ways we make the same mistakes and have to solve the same issues that are presented in a different manner.

This movie tries to be really epic and tries to make you think, but for the most part the movie is just poorly executed. It is a movie that you tell was probably a great idea and really looked good on paper, but as it develops it just does not come together as well as I was hoping.

The movie has some interesting ideas and offered some good action and I give the film credit for really trying, but overall was just way too long and really overall fails.
