This movie got too big for itself. Lana Wachowski is no stranger to large epic films, but this one ended up not working despite a LOT of great things in it. A fabulous cast, tremendous cinematography and a sophisticated plot.
But it was too much to really have a satisfying ending. You watch it and ask "what did I just see?" It never fully realizes its own point. There is no dramatic resolution, because it doesn't really know where it is going.
