Review of Cloud Atlas (2012) by Robin E — 27 Mar 2016
Ambition is writ large on every frame of this huge epic, jumping from one story strand in one timeframe to another but using all the same actors. Trouble is, as distracting and, for the most part, fun, as it may all be, three hours is much too long, and eventually the recasting of all the actors ends up feeling like a gimmick.
Ultimately it starts to feel a bit like a serpent eating its own tail.
