The excellent combination of intense performances and brilliantly written and very real dialogue still makes this one of the better relationship-movies you'll ever see. Why? Because it dares to show the other side of all those other relationship-movies you've seen. It keeps it real without ever becoming really predictable or stale. It may be cold and cruel in places, but then again - isn't life?
Some might argue that we don't want to see real life when we enter into the world of a movie. Well, I say it's refreshing when a movie counters your expectations and dares to be dirty and real, and actually get away with it. And it's still fresh after six years which is more than you can say about most movies in this genre.
