Review of Closer (2004) by Jake D — 17 Mar 2011
Closer is a very gripping look into the lives of four people who are in an apparent rutt of fear, and change, and possibly even boredom with there own lives. Jude Law and Julia Roberts the two charachters who are to cawardice to discuss their own feelings, and Clive Owen and Natalie Portman two people who are very obsessed, and quite sickly devoted to the ones who have wronged them.
There is no moveing on and forgetting it seems to all be one sick game where there is no winners.
Clive Owen and Natalie Portman are supposed to both be the standout stars in this film both winning the best supporting actor/actress for the golden Globes, and both earning an academy award nomination for the best supporting actor/actress.
For me the actual standout stars were both Jude Law, and Julia Roberts I felt that they both gave better perfomances, not trying to take anything away from Portman, or Owen, but that's just how I feel.
Closer is an intense look into how we as a people express, and how we actually interact with one another, and how are actions, and choices can affect those we love, and how they can change us as individuals. I give this movie a high recomendation, and hope most if not some of you will check this out.
