It was fun for the first two-thirds of the movie, but then the closer we got to the end the more obvious it became that the writers had no idea what to do with all the plot they'd created. This becomes especially obvious at the very end, when they try to resolve the questions raised by the plot but don't do so at all.

This movie is a miscategorized romance, and not a very good one at that.
