Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Brandon M — 20 Dec 2010
Brilliant for its time, but hard to be thoroughly entertained by it now, given the spoils of modern convention and other alien movies that came after. Close Encounters stands as a quiet and subtle movie with supreme pacing and buildup, with the director in his most natural and truest of forms.
The performances are appropriate and entertaining and soundtrack that embodies the spirit of what the director is trying to show with the story. Recommended for loves of science fiction and of Spielberg's other works.
