Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by I Don't Know W — 28 Aug 2011
I have never watched this until just the other day. Shame on me. Holds up very well for a movie almost as old as me. Because it is such an influential film in sci-fi I was familiar with a few scenes. The half sunburned face for example.
And of course the musical notes. As an older movie the pace was slower, and there weren't as many explosions, but that is a positive. Too many movies nowadays rely on action instaed of story telling and character development.
Not once in the 2:15 hour run time did I feel that the movie was dragging.
