As a music-lover, the idea of communitcating to aliens via music was one of the most awesome things I have ever heard of in my life. Unfortunately, as I have not seen this movie in a long time, I'm can't remember what the rest of the movie was like.
But honestly, I would just check it out for that awesome music-orriented ending.
