Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Mick T — 04 Nov 2012
As close to perfect a movie as you can get but one that was even trumped by the same director with E.T. a few years later. All that is hopeful is there and all the magic shows on the screen, exactly how it can be too.
The effects still stand up and everything works. The acting is first rate, the music never intrudes and inspires or beings suspense when needed, the story holds you and the message it sends is still relevant now.
Governments do NOT know everything and cannot. Moving and groundbreaking when it appeared, Close Encounters is a movie for all ages and able to be appreciated by anyone who can believe that there is something more than just this.
