Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Luis R — 15 Jul 2013
You get that strong beautiful hypnotic feeling that Kubrick breathes into "2001: A Space Odyssey" but with less art and more adventure. Spielberg follows his hugely successful "Jaws" with this films about extra-terrestrial beings who loom over a town in Indiana affecting its inhabitants.
Like the ever-succesful "Alien" Spielberg does not chuck the aliens onto the screen into the middle of the film, but gives the audience few- if any glimpses of the UFO's and lets the mystery of the Third Kind grow and grow leaving awe and wonder behind.
