Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Rorshach S — 25 Jun 2014
Close Encounters serves as a wonderful testimonial to Spielberg's gift for wonder and inspiration of awe, but strip it of it's spectacular special effects sound and light show and what remains is a compassionate human story of an ordinary every-man in extraordinary circumstances.
Never before has the line between blockbusting event movie and cinematic art been so brilliantly blurred.
