Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Letitia L — 31 Jan 2016
A stunning Spielberg tour de force back in 1977. Dreyfuss' classic role is the stuff of legend, as he was on a roll (no pun intended) after the iconic Jaws. A little dated today, I remember seeing this as a kid when the alien was a groundbreaking special effect.
The suspenseful buildup to the dramatic ending makes for classic science fiction. Spielberg's run of blockbuster films in the 1970s and 1980s is legendary as demonstrated by this film.
