Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Rameshwar N — 08 Jul 2011
The perspective, tone and theme set this movie apart from any other Alien based movie. The alien communication theme is haunting, and visual effects are fantastic for the time. But it does have it's flaws and generally gives what audience look for.
The spaceships are too colorful and not technically practical aerodynamically, with that amount of technology and civilization they don't even wear clothes, they are shown as God by manipulating physics on earth and it touches on every alien cliche talked around along with the ending is a little overlong compared to the subtle tone in the rest of the movie.
Despite all this, it is so compelling and intriguing when the movie pans out engaging you through out it's adventure.
