Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Edgar C — 31 Dec 2012
Classic elements, the Hollywood performance of François Truffaut, colors, stunning shots and a wide, universal scope are elements that integrate Spielberg's best movie. More enchanting than E.T., more intelligent than 1941, as suspenseful as Jaws, more influential than Schindler's List and better than Raiders of the Lost Ark. I'm pretty sure that if the Criterion Collection ever released a Spielberg movie, this would be it.
98/100.
