Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by President P — 23 Apr 2013
Brilliant, but a tad bit dull at times. From a standpoint of the alien genre it's a nice treat, humans and aliens coming together instead of blowing each other up. The characters themselves range from interesting to boring, but for the most part the leads are great.
Close Encounters of the Third Kind is tremendous viewing experience in both the Sci-Fi genre and cinema as well. The acting is alright, the story is brilliant, along with the writing and direction, and the visuals are extremely impressive due to the fact the were real and not the CGI BS of today.
Playing all the tones and emotions out nearly perfectly Close Encounters is great showing from Spielberg.
