Review of Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) by Tanner B — 29 Mar 2015
-IGNORE THIS "OUT OF FIVE" RATING.
4/4.
Stunning science-fiction film (one of Speilberg's very best work) about Dreyfuss (perfectly cast) who feels drawn to an isolated area in the wilderness after an encounter he had with a U.F.O-a "close" encounter. He seeks the location where something spectacular is about to occur. It all leads up to a famous ending scene that still packs an emotional wallop, and leaves the viewer dazzled. A triumph, with Oscar Winning Cinematography (by Vilmos Zsigmond). One of the finest science-fiction movies ever made. Impressively written by director Spielberg.
