Review of Clockstoppers (2002) by Steven B — 29 Apr 2008
This movie took an interesting concept, added poor acting, a sloppy hole-ridden plot, and lame attempts at humor. Even though I'm past the intended demographic of Clockstoppers, I still enjoy some movies with teenage characters- This one missed the mark.
The director wanted a mash-up of Wargames, Back to the Future, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Those were all great movies, but he should have toned down the Ferris. The attempts at hijinx made me groan and the bad guys were too over the top without a real intriguing motive.
I would like to see this freeze-time concept done again someday, but taken more seriously by its writers and producers.
