Review of Clockmaker (1971) by Michael C — 06 Jul 2013
Despite it's family film, low budget, straight forward filmmaking, Clockmaker/Timekeeper is actually pretty good. The story is well told despite some really bad dialogue and acting. The film tries to make the most of its budget using existing locations to give a 1900s look but it's the appearance of the "future" that I truly enjoyed... even it is did look cheap.
My one big gripe about the film is that it didn't go into much of an explanation with regards to the tech of the "future" and why things advanced so far and yet so little at the same time. I really would have liked to have explored that aspect of the film more.
This film isn't going to be for everybody, but I think families could still find a good deal of enjoyment from it.
