The virtues of Ceylan's filmmaking are once more present and correct: a real understanding of landscape as both illustration of and counterpoint to his characters' states-of-mind, and a way with long scenes marked by a mulish refusal to call cut.
.. Yet for all "Climates"' often startling technical expertise, the director's default emotional mode seems to be a glum resignation at the state of things.
