Review of Climates (2006) by Lori H — 22 Jun 2008
Crushing! This photographer-turned-director lavishes so much attention on the cinematography that the movie feels almost like a series of stunning photographic stills. These frozen moments communicate the emotional and physical landscapes (or climates, if you will) of these characters as well or better than the spare (but spirited) dialogue.
The film's slow, deliberate pace captures nuances that culminate in a big emotional punch.
