This movie has a huge heart - it's too bad that it's so bloody hammy. It's a reminder to not be a passenger in your life: to cherish the little things, to put family first, to not work all the time, etc.
, and overall, I'm glad I watched it. Not brilliant - and not hilarious, which I fear a lot of disappointed viewers hoped it would be - but worth seeing once... and though this might not be saying a lot, it's probably Sandler's best movie since a year beginning with the numbers 199.
By the way: isn't the story identical to A Christmas Carol?
