Review of Click (2006) by Yourstruly — 12 Nov 2012
I am going to say something that may come across as ridiculous. But I think that Click is masterful...in a way. Is it a masterpiece? No. But the way that it starts off as a 100%, silly, nonsensical, easy-going, childish comedy and then slowly rises into a deeply saddening story of loss, grief and waste is truly heart-wrenching.
As an audience member I was totally unaware to the wave of emotion that was on its way to sweep me away in a river of tears. It really was overwhelming and succeeded in putting life into perspective. Although there were plenty of laughs along the way, the real diamond of this film is its heart.
Maybe the most surprisingly touching movie I have ever had the good fortune of seeing.
