It's a film with certain charms in moments that recall the very functional simplicity of Kevin Smith's early work and of course after his health issues, returning to these characters must be cathartic for him, however the film is hindered by many inconsequential points and the overall comedy doesn't work properly, but as a journey of nostalgia and simplicity, Clerks III delivers on those grounds, regardless of its ultimate irrelevance.
