Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson): You swung at me!
Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran): You ducked.
Randal Graves (Jeff Anderson): Because you swung at me!
If there is one thing true about Kevin Smith's films is that he has a bit of an odd brand of humor; some may call it vile and vulgar and quite honestly, it is an acquired taste; but beyond the sophomoric jokes and juvenile gags, Smith's unique perspective on everyday life is truly brilliant. As was the case in this film, Smith's quirky vision seamlessly blends the profane with the poignant and somehow, make it all mesh well together. It was refreshing to watch honest statement about friendship, destiny and expectations without being overly sentimentally. But just in case all the profound life lessons gets lost in translation, all the silliness in this film was pretty entertaining to watch, there is just that weird little something about the comedic chemistry between Jay and Silent Bob that makes their segment of the film so hilarious and so appealing to watch.
