Review of Clerks (1994) by Derek M — 16 Jul 2011
A series of vignettes illustrating the lives of characters I didn't find relevant to any people I know in life, filmed in black and white either due to budgetary concerns or to depict the depressed nature of the world said characters inhabit; I never quite figured out which. There were a couple of real laughs, however not enough to make up for the total lack of empathy I had for the characters or the constant foul language and drug references. I am obviously not the intended audience for this movie; I rented it so my 15 year old son could watch it. He actually didn't see the point and neither did I. Worth watching? No way.
