Review of Clerks (1994) by Emmanuel S — 24 Jan 2014
This movie is based off the dialogue. It's pretty funny, has true situations, and the characters seem real. The soundtracks is pretty good as well. The problem is that the dialogue just goes a little too far sometimes, so it breaks the realism and makes it obvious that it was written by amateurs.
The actors seem to have trouble when that happens, like they obviously know that the line is bullshit. Actually, a lot of the lines (I'm watching it right now). It still somehow has a charm to it somehow balancing the absurd situations and bad dialogue with the great editing, actors enthusiasm, and interesting plot progression.
