Review of Clerks (1994) by Steve W — 10 Sep 2014
Kevin Smith's debut was made on a shoestring budget, putting him in debt if it was not successful. The result is bleak and droll comedy about two slackers working in adjoining stores. There's a lot of funny rants and great dialogue, all done in black and white for a minimalist Woody Allen feel.
Its funny in some parts, and even a bit groundbreaking when it comes to themes about menial labour jobs and having goals in life.
