Review of Clear and Present Danger (1994) by Peter B — 27 Oct 2009
A gripping from start to end political thriller that feels like a 24 film. Even more so coz ramon salazars in it and the action switches from white house to our hero goin about his business. Its aged well and is more timely than it perhaps was when originally released.
Dafoe does a good memorable job in his small role, kittridge from the first missiin impossible movie is seedily good and ford is always at least watchable but he really picks up the pace towards the end especially.
The scenes between him and earl jones in the earlier parts are handled well too giving the film a nice emotional beat. It aint an action fest and is best enjoyed as a thriller but it moves along briskly despite its long running time and is a darn entertainin watch.
Youre rootin for ford to bring the justice forth the longer it lasts.
