Review of Cleaner (2007) by Randy M — 19 Jun 2008
Though the film is quite slow, the intrigue builds and builds through a web of what appears to be a huge cabal. Unfortunately, what looks like a large, intricate conspiracy fizzles into a simple (and quite convenient) revenge killing.
This incredibly disappointing conclusion makes it quite apparent the screenwriter built something he/she couldn't finish and decided to wrap it all up in a nice, tidy revenge package. How something could go from being very interesting to being very lame in one single scene is beyond me.
This film should be a reminder to (most) screenwriters to know your ending before you get three quarters through your script. I will try to forget this one.
