This is a goofy movie with some laughable acting but it's got some serious style behind it. Almost science fiction in its setting: the suburbs are a smoggy wasteland where punk rockers are the mainstream and the schools of America are a warzone.
Timothy VanPatten gives a great, completely over-the-top, cheeseball performance that is completely appropriate for the movie. At the very least, I find the thing to be unique and very entertaining.
