Maybe it's more for nostalgic reasons that I like this movie, having boarded at a prep school for two years and also just being a big fan of 80s pop culture in general. This overlooked movie jumps with all kinds of wild comic energy about the craziness of prep school dorm life.

On another note, it brings to mind "The Graduate" for obvious reasons (read the synopsis), but also worth mentioning is the memorable performances of its cast. In addition to Brat Packers Lowe and McCarthy, this marks the debut of a young John Cusack, and the underrated Alan Ruck (best known as the morose Cameron in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off) plays an enjoyable part as well.

But "Class" is probably most remembered for its score, composed by the legendary Elmer Bernstein, whose vast body of work ranges from "The Ten Commandments" and "The Magnificent Seven" to "Animal House" and "Stripes.
