I've always been a bit of a geek, and I especially enjoy my sci-fi/fantasy stuff. I'm now 33 and when I think back on what made me this way, I think of the old Sinbad movies, books by R.A. Salvatore, Frazetta and this movie: Clash of the Titans.

By modern standards, this movie has very dated, stop-motion, effects. For me and those old enough to appreciate the roots of this genre however, this is part of the appeal as the effects are done by the now famous Ray Harryhausen (7th Voyage of Sinbad, Lost World, King Kong) and are just magical.

And really, that's the pervading feeling across this movie: magic. The plot revolves around classic Greek Mythology and while the acting holds up and the plot is interesting, there's a feeling at the end that the sum was greater than the parts.

It's memorable in a way that will make you remember this movie for a very long time. For those with a love of the genre, it's hard not to recommend this movie.
