Review of Clash of the Titans (1981) by Brad G — 11 Mar 2010
I am a deep admirer of Ray Harryhausenâ??s art. Movies like The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, Jason and The Argonauts, Mysterious Island, and 20 Million Miles to Earth are bloody brilliant. But I must admit that his final film, Clash of the Titans, has not aged well.
Harry Hamlinâ??s Peruses is rather boring. The (British) Gods are phoning it in. The plot stumbles from one average action set piece to the other with the Medusa battle being rather slow and uninvolved; The Kraken design is just plain weak.
Still, I dig Calibos and those giant scorpions are pretty cool. Meh. VF.
