This is a fun adventure film with effects that would have been first-rate in the 50s or 60s, but seem incredibly dated given that Star Wars, Close Encounters, Alien and other effects driven movies came years before.
On the other hand, it's nice to sit back and enjoy Ray Harryhausen's detailed, handmade work.
