Review of Clash of the Titans (1981) by Carlos A — 14 Jun 2010
Recently, I revisited the original Clash of the Titans, directed by Desmond Davis and starring Hollywood legends as Laurence Olivier and Maggie Smith, among others. I was surprised as how much better the story is told in this classic movie than the new film.
The movie has a lot of special effects in it, which are pretty basic for today's CGI wonders, but work perfectly for the film. In fact I enjoyed better the protray of the Medusa in this film than in the new one.
Since she is more terrifying and seems more real. It's sad that the recent remake was a dissappointment. Instead of just improve the special effects, Louis Leterrier should have improve the story telling.
