Review of CJ7 (2008) by Zachary L — 14 Aug 2008
Stephen Chow as an actor I love, but not so much as a director. Kung Fu Hustle and now CJ7 are heading away from the classic "mo lei tau" type of humor. Being a children's movie I could see how someone would enjoy the creature of CJ7 as well as some of the Kung Fu Hustle-esque over the top special effects scenes.
The plot was entertaining however left a lot hanging at the end about the creature as they quickly tie up the stories around the supporting cast as well in one scene. Not bad but again nothing special from the great Chow.
The Making Of was interesting though, who knew so many of the boys were actually girl actresses?
