Review of CJ7 (2008) by Chuck C — 16 Aug 2008
I'm not entirely sure, but I'm pretty positive that this is the best film I've seen so far this year. I'm a huge Stephen Chow fan, and even though I was emotionally moved by parts of Kung Fu Hustle, I had no idea where this film was going to go. My rule is typically that if a film can stretch a tear or two out of me, it's a good one.
This is one of the best.
It's silly, but it's not a kid's film. It has some serious dramatic tension, but it's far from a film for adults. I don't even know if it should be classified a family film. It's just a film everyone with a heart needs to see. You'll be glad you did.
