Review of City of Men (2007) by Brandon F — 29 Feb 2008
There is something inherently destructive in people that makes it very hard to get rid of. It is increased by poverty and hopelessness and seems to be the core of this story.
There will be endless comparisons to city of god but for some reason I liked this one better. it reminded me a bit of the kite runner and the bond between the kids was quite pure.
These movies remind me of how lucky I am to have been born 20 minutes away from a place just like the favelas in Rio.
