Review of City of God (2002) by Matt C — 25 Mar 2012
A great film and really glad to re-watch it after our trip to Rio. The favelas are vividly displayed and Rocket remains the impassioned observer throughout, providing our glimpse into the slums and the characters within.
As with most of these type of biopics as the gangsters lose control so does our attention spiral away somewhat towards the end but this is still a vivid, breathtaking film. If you haven't seen it yet, then you really are missing out.
