I didn't expect much and didn't get much. Is it so hard for directors and screenwriters to just follow a book? To think about the overall feel that the story has and put it into the movie? They should have made it for an older audience.
..PG13ish and followed the book. It was a serious story. Acting was so-so. Bill Murray and Tim Robbins in a movie together is a BIG mistake. Character development was non-existant. If I hadn't already read the book, I probably would have been totally confused.
Giant bugs? What? And when trying to find a way out of the city, don't destroy the way out for everyone else! Do yourself a favor and read the book.
