Review of City of Ember (2008) by Kuba A — 03 Jul 2010
This movie was an interesting piece as it is the tale of a civilization of people that lived underground, but didn't start out that way. Why they were moved underground in the first place, we never find out, but we are left to speculate. As time goes on, the memories of the past are lost and a young girl stumbles upon a relic of the past that can save their city and the lives of the people in them. But solving the mystery of the relic is something that won't be easy.
All in all, this is a good movie and it is interesting too. This could be a foreshadowing of our own lives one day but for now, it is just a story. And when you think of "The Builders" which are referenced at times, think of the thought that went into everything they built for the people and how long it lasted and what it might have taken to think of all of the things that were needed for the people to last as long as they did.
Well, if you get to see the movie, I hope you also enjoy it too.
