I have been disappointed time and again by movies adapted from books, but this is possibly the best one I have seen so far. Of course, the screenwriters can't get every element from the book into the movie, but they did a wonderful job of keeping The City of Ember just the way it was supposed to be.
If you enjoyed the book, you will enjoy the movie. I know that I did.
