City of Ember is a good movie, mostly because of its premise. Who doesn't think an entirely underground city is fantastic and appealing? Beyond that, the characters are utterly perfect and the actors playing them couldn't have been chosen better.
City of Ember isn't everything it could have been, but it doesn't fall short by much. I was impressed.
